Think about the materials that you will need in order to make your card.  Glue is essential, and often overlooked.  There are different types of glue for different aspects of the card making process.

Roll on glue such as Pritt is usefull if sticking lightweight items such as paper to card.

UHU glue is also very useful and is good for glueing fabrics and other materials.  It has a limited value for glueing small items such a beads or small flowers because it tends to get stringy and messy.

Glue gels such a power Prit gel are very useful for glueing small items and when it dries is very strong.
