Silica gel is good at keeping the shape of a flower.
This method is particularly good for roses and other flowers that contain alot of water.
Check the flowers regularly (disturbing them as little as possible). You do not want to dry them out too much because this will make them brittle and difficult to use. I find that they also lose their colour and look faded if left too long.
